Scar Therapy uses specialised massage and fascial techniques tailored to soften and reduce dysfunctional scar tissue, improve skin and fascial mobility, reducing pain and sensitivity for surgical scars following planned or emergency procedures including caesarean birth.

RESTORE scar therapy treatment can help care for your scar and the underlying tissue. We can focus on issues related to a surgery or trauma injury such as:

  •   pain after surgery or injury
  •   limited movement or tightness
  •   pulling or puckering
  •   fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions

How can scar therapy help?

  •  Stimulate change to scar tissue on the skin surface, and to adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue.

Specialist Caesarean Scar Therapy

For after Caesarean birth this specalist treatment will apply scar tissue techniques and use abdominal massage to treat internal scar issues such as hip pain, as well as address any concerns with the visible scar.

Will my scar disappear?

  •  No, we can’t make your scar tissue disappear. Results vary, and early treatment is recommended for  best cosmetic improvements. It’s never too late and old scars can benefit as well.

Your appointment will include a special scar massage – at the right pace and pressure to suit you – plus useful advice for caring for your scar at home, and treatment to support your general wellbeing with my existing physical therapy skills.

A RESTORE scar therapy appointment in the first 6 months after a scar is created is really helpful (even if you are not experiencing any unwanted complications) but it’s never too late to benefit from scar treatment.
